Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed a seaside demonstration of the Tomcar mobile desalination unit and later drove the specialized off-road vehicle on the beach.
The leaders waded into the Mediterranean Sea, before checking out a demonstration of the mobile desalination unit on Olga Beach in Haifa, Israel, during the final day of Modi’s three-day visit to Israel July 6, 2017. The Tomcar mobile desalination plant is capable of supplying drinking water to 22,000 people a day.
Netanyahu and Modi tasted the treated sea water before Netanyahu drove Modi in the all-terrain vehicle on the beach.
The rugged, highly mobile Tomcar vehicle is an integrated water purification vehicle, allowing first responder teams to supply potable water in areas affected by floods, earthquakes, typhoons and other natural disasters.
